Blizzard published a new collection of WoW hotfixes July 28 2026. The update introduces fixes for Blood Death Knight class talents, a Player versus Player trinket cooldown display issue, and World Boss reward bugs.
Blood Death Knight Apex Talent Fix
In class changes, developers focused on a specific issue affecting the Blood Death Knight specialization. A bug was present where ranks 2 and 3 of the Dance of Midnight Apex talent incorrectly caused characters to take increased damage. Following the July 28, 2026 hotfix, ranks 2 and 3 of the Dance of Midnight Apex talent properly decrease damage taken, restoring the intended functionality for Blood Death Knights.
Player versus Player Cooldown Display Fix
For Player versus Player combat, Blizzard corrected a display bug involving racial ability usage and trinket tracking. Previously, when a player used Will of the Forsaken to break Mind Control, the user's interface would not show the active cooldown on their PvP trinket. The update resolves this problem so that using Will of the Forsaken to break Mind Control correctly reflects the PvP trinket cooldown.
World Boss Reward and Alt Character Fixes
The July 28, 2026 hotfixes also resolve two issues related to World Boss loot drops. First, developers fixed a bug that could prevent alt characters from receiving soulbound items upon killing a World Boss. Second, Blizzard fixed an issue where World Boss rewards could include a piece of gear unmatched to the playerβs chosen spec. With these corrections in place, World Boss reward delivery functions as intended for all eligible characters and chosen specs.
