Players preparing for upcoming World of Warcraft updates can now view the official Midnight Season 2 schedule. Patch 12.1 arrives with staggered releases spanning August and September, detailing dates for The Venomous Abyss raid, fresh dungeons, PvP matches, and seasonal Delves.
August 11 Early Content Rollout
The unlock schedule begins the week of August 11 with Lair: The Tidebound Grotto on World difficulty and the brand-new Altar of Fangs dungeon. Heroic and Mythic 0 dungeon difficulties go live, with Mythic 0 set to a weekly reset awarding item level 292 gear. The updated Midnight Mythic+ rotation pool introduces Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena, Kings' Rest, Temple of Sethraliss, and Ruby Life Pools. Early Prey Season 2 Normal and Hard modes also launch alongside Delves Season 2 Tiers up to Nemesis ? difficulty without Bountiful status.
August 18 Main Season Unlock
The full competitive launch arrives the week of August 18. The Venomous Abyss raid unlocks on Normal, Heroic, Mythic, and Raid Finder Wing 1, while Mythic 0 shifts to a daily reset for item level 292 loot. Mythic+ Season 2 and PvP Season 2 officially commence. Delvers gain access to Nemesis ?? difficulty, Bountiful Delves, and Keys. Meanwhile, Nightmare Mode and Curse of the Isle unlock for Prey Season 2, and Lair: The Tidebound Grotto scales across Normal, Heroic, and Mythic flexible difficulties.
Raid Progression and Exclusive Rewards
Raid Finder Wing 2 and Story Mode for The Venomous Abyss unlock August 25, followed by Wing 3 on September 1 and Wing 4 on September 8. Defeating Ula'tek on Mythic difficulty awards the Primeval Skyfriend mount and Hall of Fame title "Famed Slayer of Ula'tek". Housing decor items like The Venomous Abyss Argent, Gleaming, and Aureate Trophies drop based on raid difficulty.
Competitive Mythic+ and PvP Tier Achievements
Achieving a 1500 Mythic+ rating grants "the Venomous" title, while 2000 and 3000 ratings award the Breath of Blight and Breath of Ruin mounts. Top 0.1% mythic dungeon runners earn "the Venomous Hero". Rated arena combatants can earn the Venomous Gladiator mount, known as the Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake, or collect Vicious Saddles for the Vicious Lightbloom Boar mount.
