As Patch 12.1 testing continues, a new update has arrived for the Mythic plus PTR tier list. This week’s update reflects adjustments from the latest PTR build and the overall meta among the testing population. With Patch 12.1 release day only one week away, there are just two weeks left for tuning before Season 2 officially starts on August 18th and 19th.
Biggest Winners of the Week
The biggest winner of the week is the Arcane Mage. Even while already sitting at the top, Arcane received another round of buffs and likely holds the highest damage per second in the game right now. Meanwhile, Windwalker Monk has climbed from B+ to S tier. Proving strong utility with Mystic Touch, solid area of effect damage, good priority damage, and burst, Windwalker sits in the Alternative S group as a very strong choice.
All three Rogue specs also climbed this week. Outlaw received another set of buffs, landing alongside Windwalker at the Alternative S tier. Assassination received a 10 percent overall buff, landing it on A+. Subtlety received substantial buffs of around 30 percent, though it remains the lowest performing Rogue spec.
Biggest Losers of the Week
Hunters continue their descent following the nerf to Hunter’s Mark. Marksmanship received a substantial 15 percent nerf, dropping all the way from A+ down to B+. Beast Mastery is not far behind, dropping down to B tier. Devastation Evoker also faced setbacks; while receiving good buffs for Scalecommander, Flameshaper was hit in crossfire changes that worsened its Mythic plus performance.
Criteria for the tier list are based on the strength of each specialization during recent PTR testing for Midnight Season 2, factoring in raw throughput, utility kits, and dungeon damage profiles.
