D&D World of Warcraft Gameplay Expansion

At Gen Con, the Dungeons & Dragons team revealed the Dungeons & Dragons World of Warcraft Gameplay Expansion, bringing the universe of Azeroth into D&D 5.5e. Set for release this November, the 256-page sourcebook functions as a combined Player’s Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master’s Guide for players looking to create their own stories across two decades of lore.

The expansion includes all 13 playable World of Warcraft classes with updated subclasses, such as Clerics standing in for Priests with Shadow and Discipline Domain options. Players can choose from 16 species, including 11 entirely new to Dungeons & Dragons. Additionally, the book features over 80 monsters and bosses, more than 60 spells, seven detailed dungeons mostly from Classic, over 20 factions to champion, and dozens of magic items.

For those looking for a pre-made adventure, the Icecrown Citadel adventure includes maps and tokens. Several editions are available for pre-order, including a physical copy for $59.99 USD, a digital version for $39.99 USD, and a combined bundle for $79.99 USD. The Icecrown Citadel Adventure Map Pack is also sold separately for $29.99 USD physical or $19.99 USD digital. Comprehensive packages include the World of Warcraft Ultimate Bundle for $124.99 USD and the Ultimate Collector’s Edition for $149.99 USD, which features a sculpted foil cover.

Pre-order perks feature the Icy Throne Digital Dice Set, Horde & Alliance Character Sheet Backgrounds for D&D Beyond, a Murloc Promo Mini, a D&D Encounters mini-adventure, and a code for in-game World of Warcraft items. The official release date is November 17, with early access available at local bookstores starting November 3.
